Old Shawnee Town Tour - Saturday

Shawnee Town 1929 allows visitors to experience a typical day in and around the 1920s farm community of Shawnee, Kansas, through authentic collections, exhibits, programs and events.
The facility is open from 10AM until 3PM and you'll want to spend at least an hour leisurely exploring this historical center that chronicles much of the area’s earliest days. When was the last time you had refreshing swig of sassaphrass?
Cost is $3 per person, and while the center is open most of the day, let’s try to concentrate our visits there in the early afternoon to maximize the opportunity to see one another!

Johnson County Arts and Heritage Center

When: June 9th, 2018 at 11AM and 2PM
Where: The old King Louie on Metcalf Avenue
8788 Metcalf Avenue
Overland Park, KS
United States

(913) 826-ARTS (2787)
Opened in 2017, the new Johnson County Arts and Heritage Center provides a terrific look at near-history in Johnson County - as we remember it from the 60s.

Explore JCAHC’s signature exhibition to gain a deeper understanding of the county's history. Through the themes of land, policy, and regionalism, discover how Johnson County residents have worked together to create the community of today. The 1950s All-Electric House, the centerpiece of the exhibit, exemplifies the American Dream many hoped to find in Johnson County.

The museum is open on Saturday from 9AM until 4PM, and admission prices are $4 for, uh, seniors. While the center is open most of the day, the tours are scheduled for 11AM and 2PM.
